Breathe Again
Ep. 52 – “Rattle!” with Charles Lane
What if the silence you’re walking through right now isn’t the end—but the beginning of resurrection?
In Episode 52 of Lyric and Letter, we’re launching something new: conversations with guests about the worship songs that have transformed their walk with God. This week, I’m joined by someone very close to my heart—my husband, Charles Lane, creator of Bible Unbound.
Charles chose to reflect on “Rattle!” by Zach Williams (feat. Steven Furtick)—a song that stirs something deep in the bones, not just because it celebrates resurrection, but because it calls it down. It’s a song about movement, about mission, and about the breath of God reviving what once felt lifeless.
What We Talked About:
Charles shared openly about his own dry bones season—navigating through the grief of divorce, rediscovering purpose, and stepping into a new calling he never expected. When he fully surrendered to Jesus and was baptized (on our wedding anniversary!), he realized just how personal this message of resurrection really is.
Together, we explored Ezekiel 37, where God takes Ezekiel into a valley of dry bones. It’s there He asks, “Can these bones live?” And after Ezekiel prophesies, God does the miraculous—He forms the bones into bodies, then fills them with breath.
This is echoed again in John 20, where Jesus—fresh from the resurrection—meets His disciples in their fear and breathes on them:
“Receive the Holy Spirit. As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” (John 20:21–22)
God doesn’t just breathe life. He breathes purpose.
When Dreams Feel Buried
Charles shared how childhood dreams he thought were long dead—like broadcasting and radio—came alive in a new form through podcasting and Bible teaching. He didn’t expect it. He didn’t force it. But God resurrected it.
And that’s what this episode is about: trusting that the Spirit of God still raises things. Not just lives—but callings, dreams, relationships, and identity.

Final Thoughts:
Maybe you’re in the middle of a three-day tomb season. Maybe you’re waiting for the breath. But remember—God doesn’t raise people to rest. He raises them to run.
“If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you… he will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” (Romans 8:11)
Take a deep breath, friend.
Breathe again.
The bones are rattling.
Can you hear them?
