What Is Lyric and Letter?
Lyric and Letter is more than just a podcast—it’s a growing ministry where worship music meets the deep truth of God’s Word. Over the past year, we’ve expanded to include devotionals, thematic verse mapping, and in-depth Bible study sessions to help believers grow in their love for Scripture.
Under the umbrella of Lyric and Letter LLC, we also produce The Bible Unbound—a dynamic video series hosted by Charles Lane that reviews Bible translations and study tools, equipping believers to engage with Scripture in deeper and more meaningful ways.
Our Mission
We exist to help believers engage deeply with Scripture by uncovering the biblical truths behind contemporary worship songs and exploring the greater redemptive story of the Bible. Through devotionals, verse mapping, structured Bible studies, and Bible resource reviews, we provide tools that foster spiritual maturity and Christ-centered worship.
Our Vision
We envision a generation of believers whose worship is rooted in truth and whose lives are shaped by God’s Word. By combining the emotional power of music with theological depth, we aim to cultivate worship that is both heartfelt and doctrinally sound—drawing people into a deeper relationship with Christ through study, community, and song.
Who We Are
Rebecca and Charles Lane are the husband-and-wife team behind Lyric and Letter LLC.
Rebecca, a writer and creative from Northern Indiana, brings her background in storytelling, filmmaking, worship music, and Scripture study to the podcast, crafting verse maps, devotionals, and Bible studies. Her passion is to help believers discover the biblical foundation behind the worship songs they sing.
Charles is the host of The Bible Unbound and a passionate Bible reviewer who helps believers navigate translations, study Bibles, and theological resources. Together, they create content that connects the head and heart to God’s Word..
Who It’s For
Whether you’re a new believer, a worship leader, a student of the Word, or someone who has sung worship songs for years without knowing their biblical roots—Lyric and Letter is here to help you go deeper. We believe every Christian is called to engage with God’s Word with both heart and mind. Our content is designed to help you worship with understanding, study with joy, and grow in your knowledge of the truth—so that what you sing and how you live are shaped by Scripture.
We believe there is more than just lyrics in the songs we sing, and more than just stories in the pages of Scripture. There is truth. There is theology. There is Jesus—and He is worthy of our deepest worship and our greatest obedience.

Statement of Faith for the "Lyric and Letter" Podcast
We exist to glorify God by exploring the truth of His Word through worship and theological reflection. The following core beliefs shape everything we teach and sing:
God: We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who are equal in essence and glory. God is the Creator, Sustainer, and Sovereign Lord over all (Deut. 6:4; Gen. 1:1; Matt. 28:19).
Scripture: We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God. It is the final authority for all faith and life, sufficient for salvation, sanctification, and worship (2 Tim. 3:16–17; 2 Pet. 1:20–21).
Humanity and Sin: We believe all people are created in God’s image, but through Adam’s fall, have inherited a sinful nature. Apart from Christ, we are spiritually dead and under God’s just wrath, in need of redemption (Gen. 1:27; Rom. 3:23; Eph. 2:1–3).
Jesus Christ: We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, sinless in life, crucified for our sins, risen bodily from the grave, ascended to the Father, and coming again in glory to judge and reign (John 1:14; 1 Cor. 15:3–4; Rev. 19:11–16).
The Return of Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ will return personally, visibly, and bodily to judge the living and the dead, to establish His eternal Kingdom, and to bring final justice and restoration. His coming is our blessed hope and calls every believer to live in readiness, holiness, and joyful expectation (Acts 1:11; Titus 2:13; Matt. 24:30–31; Rev. 22:12).
Salvation: We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. All who repent and believe are justified, adopted as children of God, and sealed by the Holy Spirit (Eph. 2:8–9; Rom. 5:1; John 1:12).
The Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit indwells all believers, empowering them for godly living, spiritual growth, and true worship. He convicts, comforts, guides, and glorifies Christ (Rom. 8:9–11; John 16:13–14).
The Church: We believe the universal Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all believers. The local church gathers for worship, teaching, fellowship, and mission. Christ is the head of the Church, and believers are called to love and serve one another (Eph. 4:11–16; Acts 2:42–47).
Eternity: We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost. Those in Christ will dwell forever in His presence in the new heaven and new earth; those apart from Him will face eternal separation in hell. Heaven and hell are real, eternal destinations, and Christ’s return will consummate all things in perfect righteousness (Matt. 25:46; Rev. 20:11–15; 2 Pet. 3:13).
Worship: We believe worship is a whole-life response to God’s glory and grace, grounded in truth and expressed in spirit. Music and study must reflect sound doctrine, exalt Christ, and edify the Church (John 4:24; Col. 3:16; Heb. 12:28).
Human Identity, Marriage, and the Sanctity of Life: We believe that God created human beings as male and female, equal in dignity and worth, and intentionally distinct. Gender is a good gift from God, rooted in biological reality and revealed in creation (Gen. 1:27; Matt. 19:4). We believe that marriage is a covenant union ordained by God between one man and one woman, intended to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church. Sexual intimacy is a gift to be expressed only within this covenant (Gen. 2:24; Eph. 5:25–32; Heb. 13:4). We believe that all human life is sacred and created in the image of God from the moment of conception to natural death. Every person—regardless of age, ability, or background—has inherent value and must be treated with compassion and dignity (Ps. 139:13–16; Jer. 1:5; Prov. 31:8–9).
Worship and Scripture
At Lyric and Letter, we believe worship and Scripture are inseparable. Worship is not merely a song but a whole-life response of surrender to Christ (Romans 12:1). Worship music is one expression of that surrender, and it must be rooted in the truth of God’s Word in order to glorify Him rightly.
Many worship songs draw deeply from Scripture—and our mission is to help believers engage with the theological depth behind what they sing. Through podcast episodes, devotionals, verse mapping, and Bible study, we aim to equip believers to know God’s Word more deeply, so that their worship is not only passionate, but biblically grounded.
Our goal is to foster a culture of worship that exalts Christ, reflects sound doctrine, and overflows from hearts transformed by the gospel.
